Kyphoplasty Treatment

Restore Vertebral Height. Relieve Back Pain. Rebuild Your Life.

Why Choose Kyphoplasty Treatment

Kyphoplasty Treatment is a minimally invasive neurosurgical procedure specifically designed to treat painful vertebral compression fractures caused by osteoporosis, cancer, or spinal trauma. These fractures cause the vertebrae to collapse and compress, resulting in severe back pain, loss of height, spinal deformity, and significantly reduced mobility and quality of life. Kyphoplasty offers patients a safe, effective, and rapid solution to restore vertebral height, stabilize the fractured bone, and achieve meaningful pain relief.

At Dr. Baraa Al Hafez Medical Center, our Kyphoplasty Treatment procedures are performed by our highly experienced Neurosurgery Specialist, Dr. Amjad Alsaeed, using the most advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques and equipment available. Our team is committed to delivering exceptional neurosurgical care that prioritizes patient safety, comfort, and outstanding outcomes for every patient requiring vertebral fracture treatment.

We understand that vertebral compression fractures can be extremely painful and debilitating, dramatically affecting your ability to move, perform daily activities, and maintain independence. Kyphoplasty Treatment offers a proven, minimally invasive solution that delivers rapid pain relief and restores spinal stability with minimal recovery time. At Dr. Baraa Al Hafez Medical Center in Sharjah, our dedicated neurosurgical team is committed to restoring your spinal health, comfort, and independence through expert precision surgical care.

What to Expect During Treatment

Your Kyphoplasty Treatment journey begins with a comprehensive neurosurgical consultation during which Dr. Amjad Alsaeed will thoroughly review your symptoms, medical history, and imaging results including MRI, CT scans, and X-rays to confirm the diagnosis of vertebral compression fracture and determine whether Kyphoplasty is the most appropriate treatment for your specific condition. A complete assessment of your bone health and overall medical status is also performed to ensure you are fully prepared for the procedure.

The Kyphoplasty procedure is performed under local or general anesthesia through two very small incisions in the back. A thin tube is carefully guided to the fractured vertebra under real-time X-ray imaging guidance. A small balloon is then inserted and gently inflated to restore the height of the collapsed vertebra and create a cavity. The balloon is removed and the cavity is carefully filled with a special bone cement that hardens rapidly, stabilizing the fracture and maintaining the restored vertebral height.

Following the procedure, patients typically experience significant and often immediate pain relief and are able to mobilize and resume light daily activities within a very short period. Post-operative care includes pain management, activity guidance, and follow-up appointments to monitor your recovery and bone health. Our team also addresses the underlying cause of the fracture, providing guidance on osteoporosis management and fracture prevention to protect your long-term spinal health at Dr. Baraa Al Hafez Medical Center in Sharjah, UAE.

What is Kyphoplasty Treatment?

Kyphoplasty Treatment is a minimally invasive neurosurgical procedure that uses a small balloon and bone cement to restore the height of a collapsed vertebra, stabilize the fracture, and relieve severe back pain caused by vertebral compression fractures.

Kyphoplasty Treatment is primarily used to treat vertebral compression fractures caused by osteoporosis, cancer affecting the spine, and spinal trauma. It is particularly effective for patients experiencing severe back pain and loss of vertebral height.

Kyphoplasty uses a balloon to restore vertebral height before injecting bone cement, while Vertebroplasty injects cement directly without balloon inflation. Kyphoplasty is more effective at restoring vertebral height and correcting spinal deformity caused by compression fractures.

Yes. Kyphoplasty is a safe and well-established minimally invasive procedure when performed by an experienced neurosurgeon. Dr. Amjad Alsaeed uses advanced real-time imaging guidance and precise surgical techniques to ensure maximum safety and outstanding outcomes.

A Kyphoplasty procedure typically takes between one to two hours depending on the number of vertebrae being treated. Our neurosurgeon will provide a detailed timeline and procedure explanation during your pre-operative consultation.

Many patients experience significant and often immediate pain relief following Kyphoplasty Treatment. The bone cement stabilizes the fracture rapidly, providing fast and lasting relief from the severe back pain caused by vertebral compression fractures.

Recovery after Kyphoplasty is typically rapid compared to traditional spine surgery. Most patients are able to mobilize and resume light daily activities within one to two days following the procedure, with full recovery achieved within a few weeks.

Yes. By inflating a balloon to restore vertebral height before injecting bone cement, Kyphoplasty can partially or fully correct the spinal deformity and loss of height caused by vertebral compression fractures, improving posture and spinal alignment.
